Eureka!

My skin used to be as dry as my lawn in the winter and it was a toss-up as to which looked better; unless the armadillos had been out the night before and then I’d win by a snout.
When I lived in Miami I was a fan of Lubriderm. I seem to remember that it was pitched as doctor recommended. For that reason, and that it cost more like something prescribed, I tried it. But once I moved to Texas after five minutes I would wonder if I had applied it at all.
I experimented with dozens of brands looking for the Texas winter "cure." Somewhere in that mix I tried a Scandinavian friend's recommendation for "Neutrogena Hand Cream - Norwegian Formula" and "Zim's Crack Cream." The first had the viscosity of what ball bearings are packed in before being placed in one machine or another, and the second was better than the spackling that I was expecting; but unfortunately each was left by the wayside for one reason or another.
Recently, I stumbled upon "Eucerin Original Moisturizing Creme. It's so thick that it comes in a tub and unfortunately has the consistency of glue. But all I can say is that it’s magic. Even my hands are unbelievably smooth. No more fabric-grabbing-Velcro finger tips!

A NOTE: "Fragrance-free" should often read as "Truth-free." Avoid a return trip to the store by sneaking off the cap and giving it the sniff test.
