After marketing my pantographs for about a year I decided wanted to start a version of a Block of the Month club but I had a couple of high- hurdles to leap just to get to the starting line:

The first was a name. There were so many "product-of-the-month" clubs out there that most names seemed, at best, derivative.  And since a name is your "signature" you want it to be as distinct and different as your product.  After numerous conversations with friends, a couple of bottles of wine and a lot goofy concepts I was still at a loss for a name.  Then it hit me.  I wanted to create a line of pantographs that would be essential for any collection ... thus Essential Elementz was born.

As daunting as a name search was, I was even more overwhelmed by the idea that I would have to create a year's worth of designs on demand.  So far I had been pretty prolific, but I wasn't sure when the well would run dry.  I felt that if I could come up with 3 new pantographs in advance it would give me a little breathing room in case of a dry spell.  

And then I got pneumonia. As it turned out, a happy accident in the sense that the meds affected my ability to sleep. And, it was during many of those sleepless nights that I came up with my first 3 months of designs. That's just what I needed for the peace of mind conducive to creation and, simply, to take off the pressure that could spill over into other areas of my life.

Since then I've created a half a dozen more designs and I'm so excited about them that I can hardly wait to send them out each month.
