Contest without a Name
Okay, so are we the only ones who feel like hamsters running on wheels? I know that February is a short month, but this is ridiculous … I thought I just wrote a newsletter yesterday. I guess we're late because we forgot that February only has 28 days; after all, it doesn't always. It's really only March 5th today. Or maybe February 36th.
As you may have guessed, we're both tearing out our hair now … too bad, because Patricia's was just starting to grow back after Houston. Jane's fighting with her latest book, and at the moment the book is winning. Patricia is fighting with her studio … which she loves, but you know how it is when you move, even if it's only to another room … and the studio is winning. We can't even figure out what the biggest news is for this newsletter, so we'll just list them.
First, Patricia's added another free downloadable panto, Insignia, which would be great for any Boy or Girl Scout or military-themed quilt. (Also perfect for that Louis XIV quilt you've always wanted to make.) AND the April Essential Elementz pattern is up too. Patricia says that Chapparal is a meandering feather design, but Jane thinks it's more like foliage. Either way it's versatile enough to work on almost any style of quilt.
We're very excited about the new "Submit a Concept" button on our navigation bar. It may surprise you to learn that Patricia is not able to think of every panto inspiration in the known universe. (Surprised us too, because she's so prolific.) In the past, a few customers have asked for pantos with a specific theme, and she has usually been able to accommodate them. So now we're hoping that, if there's something you want to see, you'll let us know. You can use the “Submit a Concept” button to upload a photo or a sketch of anything you'd like to see made into a panto … even a note with a sentence or 2 will work. (Don't submit tire tracks; Jane already dibsed it.) If Patricia uses your idea as inspiration for a panto, we'll send you that panto FREE. AND to introduce this feature, we're running a contest, and here's how burned out we are: the best name we could come up with was the "No-Name Contest." We know it's pathetic, don't even bother to think it.
Okay; the contest: starting NOW and ending at 11:59 pm, Central time, on March 31, 2010, you can submit any idea. Only entries that go through the “Submit a Concept” button on our webpage will be eligible; no email or phone entries please. But since it can't be a contest without prizes, here they are … First prize is your idea in panto form (I know, you were getting that anyway, but just hold on) and 3 other pantos of your choice, either paper or downloadable. Second prize is your panto plus 2 others and third prize is your panto plus 1 other … the "others" are still your choice. NOTE: All ideas submitted and all finished pantos are the sole property of Urban Elementz.
