You’ll only have to remember two numbers to cut this fun quilt that’s made of pieces that are all exactly the same size. Throw in a bit of strip-piecing and you have a great result for not-so-much effort. Instructions are also given for the optional pieced border.
Block size: 8” FinishedQuilt size: 48” x 72” without borders,
58” x 82” with either border shown
(Instructions included for up to 64” x 88”
without borders.)
Fabric requirements: high contrast makes this quilt work!
Blocks: 14 light fat quarters
14 dark fat quarters
For smaller quilt (58” x 82”):
Inner border: 3/8 yard
Outer border: 1 yard if cut crosswise
2 1/8 yards if cut lengthwise
Backing: 5 yards, seamed lengthwise
Binding: 5/8 yard
For larger quilt (76” x 100”):
Inner border: 1/2 yard
Outer border: 1 1/4 yards, cut crosswise
2 1/8 yards ,cut lengthwise
Backing: 6 yards, seamed lengthwise
Binding: 3/4 yard
