Yardage for Columns:
Nondirectional fabrics work best for this quilt. The two sets of fabrics should be low in contrast; darks and mediums or mediums and lights.
Dark fabrics: ½ yard each of 6
Medium fabrics: ½ yard each of 6
in colors that correspond to darks
Top and bottom triangles: ⅓ yard or 1 fat quarter
Borders:
Inner border: ⅜ yard
Outer border: 2 ¼ yards, cut lengthwise or
1 ¼ yards, cut crosswise
Backing: 3 yards for quilt without borders,
pieced crosswise
5 yards for quilt with borders,
pieced lengthwise
Binding: ½ yard
Special Equipment:
24” x 6” or 24” x 6 ½” ruler with 45° angle marks
