I had no idea what I was doing, so I ordered the paper version, to use with a standard domestic home machine, for a queen sized quilt.
I had no idea how to mark it, or fit in the machine. Once those obstacles were overcome it was the perfect design for what I wanted. I was using Indian block printed fabrics and a peacock feather is a traditional motif in Indian designs. I thought this stylized flame lent itself to being read as a peacock feather. Some day when my skills improve I would like to do it again with varied stitch lengths for each echo of the design, moving from small in the inside to large on the outside. (Posted on 1/22/2018)
